Noted Dermatology: Our Mission

I’m a dermatologist. And like all good dermatologists, I use tretinoin every night (if you don’t know, tretinoin is topical Vitamin A that helps decrease wrinkles over time). It was winter, and the tret became a little too drying for the skin around my eyelids. I decided to switch to retinol for under my eyes (retinol is about 20x less intense than prescription tretinoin). I had never used a retinol specifically around the eyes, and I was unsure which one to buy. So, I turned to trusty social media. I went to all of my favorite online dermatologists: Dr. Idriss, Dr. Dray, Dr. Lim, that handsome British dermatologist, all of my favorite online derms.

And let me tell you: I felt so overwhelmed. What I expected to be a few minutes of scrolling turned into hours of videos, all covering roughly the same but slightly different topics. “What to know about retinol,” “ Everything you need to know about retinol 2023,” “ Retinol is ruining your face,” If you are on retinol, don’t do this,” “The best retinol for sensitive skin,” “ Don’t use retinol and here’s why,” “The Best Retinols 2022” “ The top 10 Retinol Products,” “ What you need to know Before Starting Retinol,” “My Holy Grail Retinol,” and on and on. I could not believe the tsunami of information that came my way. I found this process to be so overwhelming, and I am a dermatologist who already knows quite a bit about retinol. I couldn’t imagine being a consumer trying to dig through all of this information.

So I wanted to help. I wanted to create a freestanding website with up-to-date information and unbiased product reviews. No clickbait. No fear-mongering. No “This is My Favorite Retinol and Ignore the ‘Sponsored’ Ad at the Bottom of the Video!” I want to convey just simple science explained easily and the best products to use.

So that is our mission for this website: to make skincare as uncomplicated and frustration-free as possible. We want to educate you, empower you, and help you understand the products and services that you spend your hard-earned money on.

I hope you enjoy the site. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

PS. I got the ROC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Cream. I like it, but it smells awful.
